Founded in 1999

Coltin was created with a mission to deliver quality, generate growth, and yield success. Its’ founders hared a vision to change the electrical contractor market in northwest Florida by utilizing their combined 30 years of experience in the electrical industry.  The gulf coast immediately took note of the newly found company as Coltin quickly became one of the most successful electrical contractors in the panhandle of Florida.  Paving the way for its rapid success was the founder’s insights to obtain the most experienced and productive electrical field staff by “raising the bar;” quickly becoming known to possess the best and most engaging work environment in the area.  This attracted the attention of highly skilled and qualified electricians looking for a stable opportunity.  The “Coltin Team” was born, and Coltin was poised for remarkable growth.  As Coltin began to undertake larger projects, our team has never lost sight of its mission to deliver QUALITY!  

Through the development of strong relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers, Coltin laid the foundation for the undertaking of increasingly larger projects exceeding $2 million.  Throughout our initial period of formidable growth, Coltin successfully completed a wide range of projects ranging from $500,000 to over $4 million.  This opportunity and experience poised Coltin for the next phase of its growth by expanding its focus market to larger state and federal funded projects. These projects include the construction of manufacturing, industrial, commercial, institutional, transportation, office, medical, water treatment facilities, big box retail, and distribution centers.  Coltin crowning achievement in its 12 years has been the successful completion of the $27 million 7th Special Forces Complex at Eglin Air Force Base; a project consisting of 43 buildings with over 2 million square feet of various construction types on a 4 square mile construction site – all completed on-time in less than 2 years!  The mere complexity of the project is overwhelming – consisting of systems such as high voltage overhead line distribution, giant voice towers, perimeter camera and Security systems, plant wide fiber optic distribution, card access, CCTV, fire alarm, mass notification, all successfully completed while exceeding some of the governments highest security standards for installation and implementation. With the completion of this project, it was realized that Coltin had undoubtedly achieved its goals of quality, growth and success!  In addition, Coltin was proud to have employed the largest field staff of any Electrical Contractor in Northwest Florida while maintaining one of the lowest OSHA incident rates and an experience mod of .86.

Focusing on customer satisfaction, Coltin continues to provide its repeat clientele services such as estimating, project management, purchasing, specification writing, plan preparation, inspection services, professional electrical investigation, and contract and claim negotiations. We provide complete design services for all of the electrical systems it performs with its complete in-house auto-CAD and printing staff. 

With an arsenal of highly trained professional staff, tools, and equipment, Coltin is capable of handling any project we choose to undertake.  Coltin maintains electrical master’s and certified electrical licenses in the states of Florida, Alabama, and Georgia.
